Red Caters for the ‘Lords & Ladies’ of Wales!

Last Saturday Red Anywhere headed to Wales where they were asked to cook dinner for 18 guests at a 50th Birthday Celebration held in a beautiful private house.
Herewith begin the Master Chef Experience…
The night was themed and all guests were dressed from head to toe in very authentic Ladies and Lords attire, the birthday boy came dressed as a ‘Knight in Shining Armour’ which, as you can imagine, only lasted till he sat down for dinner. Another guest came as ‘Lady Penelope’ which I thought was an excellent idea & great play on words.
When we arrived at the house we set up our equipment in the stunning kitchen and then started to lay the table up, ready for the evening ahead.
Guests started to arrive around 7pm and were greeted with a smile and a glass of Champagne,next they were invited into the drawing room where they enjoyed a selection of our finest Canapés including Mango & Chorizo Risotto, Gazpacho Soup with Cucumber Jelly and Poached Salmon, Horseradish & Dill with Langoustine.
The Lords and Ladies were then invited to take their seats in the suitably decorated dining room where they were served a 7 course taster menu cooked by Master Chef of Great Britain, Daniel Clarke, accompanied by fine wines from France. Dishes that tantalised the guests’ taste buds included a volute of Pea, Ham & Chervil as well as Monkfish, Pickled Sultanas & Capers with Home made Apple Sauce.
After the delicious Duck main course we served an exciting dessert which included Passion Fruit Crème Brulee, Apple Jelly with Apple & Basil Sorbet, Vanilla Pannacota with Roasted Banana all washed down with a fine dessert wine! Dan is famous for his desserts and sure enough this was the dish that the guests didn’t stop talking about and ended up taking a vote as to what part of the dessert was their favourite!
A Selection of local Cheeses with celery & Grapes was then served, shortly followed with some fresh Coffee.
The Lords and Ladies then retired to the garden and lounge area for a glass of port before they called it a night and headed back to their own homes.
As part of the experience we ensure that the venue is left as we found it, so it was now down to the Red Anywhere team to get down to the clearing & washing up, leaving our clients nothing to worry about when they wake in the morning.
As we bid our farewells the guests thanked us for a lovely evening and for the delicious food & wine.
