Sussex Wedding Venues

After a year in the role as operations director one of my responsibilities is to look and find new venues! I now feel sufficiently experienced to share my opinion on the various wedding venues in Sussex. The trend nowadays seems to be steering away from the traditional Church wedding with Hotel reception, people now seem to opt for a civil ceremony & reception under one roof.

Detailed below are three of my favourites which meet these criteria and cover all corners of the Sussex countryside:

Eastland’s Estate,West Chiltington Lane, Nr Billingshurst, West Sussex

Eastland’s Estate is set in 200 acres of Sussex countryside; the venue is available for your exclusive hire with the option of hiring the stunning country house for overnight or weekend stay. The starlight suite is available for sit down meals of up to 100 or alternatively the grounds may be used to erect a marquee structure for up to 1000. www.eastlandsestate.com

Farbridge, Preston Farm, West Dean, Chichester, W. Sussex, PO18 0JT

Farbridge is a new venue set in the Historic West Dean Estate near Chichester, The two large barns and ten stables have been superbly renovated and have recently won the Sussex Heritage Award 2008. The main barn can seat 150 for a sit down meal while the smaller barn serves as an entertainment area with fitted dance floor and sound system. The 10 stables have been stylish converted into double bedrooms with ensuite which are available to hire at a very reasonable rate. www.farbridge.org.uk

Stanmer House, Stanmer Park, Brighton, East Sussex, BN1 9QA

Stanmer House sits in the heart of Sussex countryside yet only minutes from the bustling city centre of Brighton. The venue has a selection of different sized and shaped rooms and an abundance of land suitable for marquee structures. www.stanmerhouse.co.uk
