One Hog, One Lamb, One Million Flowers & an Outburst of Rain… The Midweek Wedding Dream!

Posted in General on July 27th, 2010 | No Comments

Not many are brave enough to risk cries of “Not on a work day!”, “I can’t get a babysitter!” and “But that’s curry night!” from all areas of their guest list, and plan a midweek wedding. Those who are, however, may just be pleasantly surprised. One of our couples recently did just this, booking Grittenham Barn, near Petworth for their wedding reception on a Wednesday mid July. And pleasant, it was! Our lovely couple were able to decorate the beautiful Grittenham Barn to the hilt, transforming the already stunning, rustic building into something really magical.

Ridge View Farm Studios – Living the Rock Star Dream!

Living the Rock Star Dream… Today Dan and I went to visit Ridge View Farm Studios in Rusper.

This May we will be catering a Spanish – Themed menu for a wedding at the fantastic Ridge View.  We wanted to check out the venue’s facilities from an
operational (and nosey!) point of view…

The Farm is fantastic.  We were met by the lovely Fenella and her two mad dogs and led into the beautiful kitchen.  Over a cup of tea Fenella gave us a
bit of history about the studios, having worked there for years.  The likes of Oasis and Pearl Jam to name but a few have recorded there. Fenella’s
story about Ozzy Osborne doing handstands in the living room made us laugh…

Once our bride arrived we took the tour and made plans for the big day.  The wedding reception will take place in Ridge’s pool House (the pool is
covered over of course…).  With paella stands and ice cream bars outside, an outdoor fire in the evening and fairy lights and candles all over,
the night will be magical.

Back inside, we had a look round the rest of the house.  The thick rustic walls and topsy-turvy floor will make for an interesting wedding night
should guests have one glass of Sangria too many, but the house is beautiful. The entire building is decorated individually and sympathetically and
there’s even a secret bedroom…

With one last glance and some last minute set-up plan changes we were back on the road.  Now I have a new favourite venue and Dan is thinking of taking
up guitar… I’m thinking Rod Stewart meets Slayer… Red Anywhere for Glastonbury 2011!

St Andrew’s Day – Red Anywhere Style

Posted in General on December 2nd, 2009 | 1 Comment

Another day, another Master Chef Experience… This time we were asked to create a Scottish influenced menu for a private dinner at a client’s house.
The event?  Their wedding!  The couple wanted a small ceremony followed by a intimate meal for eight, inspired by the Groom’s Scottish heritage.
So that was just what they got!
