An Eggcellent Day!

Posted in General on October 7th, 2008 | 2 Comments

Local Sussex Based Company Fresh Egg who are one of the UK’s leading Web design, internet marketing and search engine optimization company held a very successful workshop at the Dome in Brighton City centre last Friday and asked us to provide a delicious hot and cold buffet for all 45 delegates and staff.

The workshop ‘Everything you need to know about running successful SEO (Search Engine Optimization) campaigns’ attracted people from all over the UK, even as far as Glasgow as well as some local press.

Red Anywhere ensured that delegates were greeted with a fresh Coffee, Warm Croissants & Home made Strawberry Jam which was an ideal way to get the metabolism working ready for lunch!

Lunchtime soon came…The beautiful array of food on the buffet included Posh King Prawn Cocktail, Celeriac, Horseradish & Pine Nut Salad, Caesar Salad, Flavoured Breads, Poached Salmon & Pickled Cucumber and Greek Salad…to name a few. For the hot section we served Organic Corn Fed Chicken Roasted in Mushrooms and Leeks with Fondant Potato. Most people came back for a second helping which is always a great sign that the food was thoroughly enjoyed as well as all the compliments we received!!

For Something Sweet…We served a choice of either Mango & Passion Fruit Pavlova or Lemon Posset & Blueberry Compote – Put it this way…we didn’t end up taking any back with us and even had people asking if there was any more.

And as if all that food wasn’t enough…!

We then served scrumptious Home made Fruit Scones, Clotted Cream & Strawberry Jam with Fresh Tea & Coffee which wrapped up the day nicely.

I’d be surprised if there were clean plates after dinner that night.

I think it was safe to say that Fresh Egg had a very good turn out and the day for everyone went smoothly.

If you would like to talk to us about catering at your office events, launches, corporate days etc, then please call me (Charlie) at the office on 0845 223 4472.

Where to Eat in West Sussex!

Posted in General on September 22nd, 2008 | 2 Comments

Right here we go lets get some feedback on this blog topic! As a Chef and I believe quite a good one I often get asked 2 questions quite a lot….

1. What’s your favourite meal?…. Ham, Egg and Chips!

2. Where do you eat in West Sussex?……..

Well I am by no way a snob but I do appreciate good food, Cooked well and reasonably priced. I have no problem paying for something that is good but cannot stand over priced rubbish!

I do not eat out as much as I should or can as I am very busy at Red Anywhere but also I have 3 young Children so not always easy to get a Babysitter….. any offers?

I did however have a very good meal last month at the…… wait for it…….. “Ginger Fox” this country pub is one of the new eateries from the Ginger Man restaurant group based in Brighton!

The pub was recently restored and is truly beautiful, Very simple, Nice decor and nice furniture! The menu was good, Seasonal produce, Lots of local ingredients and lots of choice! The food and service were very good and the whole atmosphere of the evening was great….. helped by my partner sitting opposite me!

I also get asked where was the best meal you ever had….? now that’s a tough question as I have been lucky enough to work and eat in some fine restaurants!

But I have to say the best dining experience I ever had was some time ago in Dublin. Myself and my partner went away for a weekend and got a deal on last minute.com and stayed at the Merrion Hotel….. Very nice!

I was asked when we checked in if we wanted to eat in the restaurant and I said NO! assuming that it was nothing special. Then when we got to our room and I looked through their brochure I saw the Name “Patrick Guilbaud” Restaurant, I quickly rang down and asked and was told his restaurant was in the basement. I then decided to book a table with no hesitation….. The restaurant is Ireland’s highest rated and has been awarded with 2 Michelin Stars and by god the evening was magical, Utterly faultless and well worth the money (cost more than the hotel for 3 nights)

So what I am asking is for you all to tell me where you think the best dining experience is in West Sussex!

I await your replies with anticipation!

Red Golf Day 2009!

Posted in General, News on September 9th, 2008 | 4 Comments

After this year’s hugely successful golf day raising over £6000 for two local charities, Red Anywhere has decided to host an unforgettable Golf day next year to raise even more money for the worthwhile causes of Worthing Churches Homeless Project & Sussex Autistic Society.

During a meeting with our sponsors we discussed the positives and negatives of the golf day just gone and have come up with more ideas for you to enjoy yourself…..

We are hoping to start the day with a traditional Full English Breakfast at a well known 18 hole Golf Course set on the breathtaking Sussex Downs – we’re sure…will not disappoint any of you budding Tiger Woods!

There will of course be more humorous fund-raising challenges and some charges/forfeits on a few holes.

After the fun and games at the golf course we would like to cordially invite everyone back to our ‘Charity Bash’ at an absolutely stunning venue on the outskirts of Chichester. This invite will be extended to family & friends.

The Charity Bash!

This is sure to be a superb night to remember.

The night will include

- Arrival Drink

- Delicious 4 course meal cooked by Dan Clarke, Creative Chef of Red Anywhere
