Valentine’s Day Proposal!!

Where you asked the question on the most romantic night of the year? How did it go? Was it as romantic as you imagined it to be? Or…Was it you who popped the question? Why don’t you tell us about your Valentine’s Day and see if you can beat the following proposal story…..

Brace yourselves for the most romantic proposal I have ever heard, bearing in mind I hear a lot in this line of work!!

Imagine waking up to a little note and rose on your pillow and in the note is a cryptic clue, once the clue is cracked then it leads you to the next special place that means something to you and your partner…this is the story of how my best friend’s boyfriend proposed to her on valentine’s night.

My friend, Lucy then went to the next location after she broke the next cryptic clue which her boyfriend had personally devised for her. At each location throughout the day she had someone meet her there holding a coloured rose flower, the rose was a different colour and meant something different at each of her stops. She started to get suspicious but soon realised that this was her 2 year ‘anniversary’ with her boyfriend so little did she know what was to come.

Whilst she was out, her boyfriend (soon to be fiancé) had been back to their apartment, collected all her make-up, underwear, shoes and Ball gown and had it waiting for her at her parents’ house…this was the last stop. Waiting here was her ball gown laid out on her bed with a crossword puzzle that spelt the location where she was to meet him. So she got herself all dolled up and ready to go and went to meet her boyfriend…he was standing outside the restaurant in his tuxedo waiting for her to arrive.

They then began their meal and went through to dessert which was strawberries and Cream with a sugar nest over the top, she broke inside this and there was the ring! Yes…he did get down on one knee in the middle of the restaurant and he had organised for the waiters to come over with a bottle of their most expensive champagne. Obviously she said ‘Yes’!

To top it all off…after the meal he had organised a taxi to take them to the next venue where he had organised all her family, friends and colleagues to be there waiting for their engagement party!!

WOW…..Better get your act together boys!!!

Sunday mornings are meant to be spent at home reading the paper, walking the dog, playing with the children and generally lazing about….

Not this week, Myself & four colleagues spent the day tasting 6 different Cab Sav’s (Cabernet Sauvignon for the wine buffs) at my good friend Colin’s wine shop in East Preston

We were all trailing an idea for a new on-line wine website coming soon called Classic Wine Direct, the idea was to film us all tasting 6 different wines and talking generally and informally what we thought about the wines. I was taking into account what food i would match with the wine. Colin from Sussex Victuallers was the wine expert and telling us how and where the wine was made, Adam Stafford – wine enthusiast, Martin Eze – wine trainee (also none as fuzzy head, see picture) and Gavin (also know as Gavino) who has a great website called Wine of the Week.

The day was a great success and after about 6 bottles of wine we were beginning to relax and really getting into tasting and acting at the same time…. not easy after a few glasses of Vino.

We are all eagerly awaiting the next tasting and also the launch of www.classicwinedirect.com which aims to knock the socks of any on-line wine site… watch this space

One Company 4 Awards it can only be Red Anywhere…. After our success at this years business awards the magazine that features the event was released this week and to be honest its more like a Red Anywhere publication… We are featured on 5 different pages!

I am so excited writing this blog…. We have secured Manning’s Heath Golf Club for the 4th Red Charity Golf Day to be held on Tuesday 14th July…. even more exciting is that we will be playing on the “Waterfall Course” normally reserved for Members Only and if that’s not enough the have also agreed to let me take over the kitchens at the club to produce a sublime 3 course meal for all our golfers and friends in the evening….!
