Ready Steady Cook

Posted in News on May 30th, 2008 | No Comments

Today was a great day for Red Anywhere we finally got to use our new kitchen! Will and me lit the stoves like we were opening a historical building, it was a great feeling to see all the hard work over the last 2 months getting the kitchen ready to actually seeing it working and looking like a proper kitchen!

Will O’Hara Sous Chef for Red Anywhere had a little smile when he put the first pan on the stove to boil! I looking relieved that everything was working was admiring how great everything looked and excited about how busy we are going to be over the next few months!

It’s been a great effort to get the new premises and kitchens ready for the season and a big thanks to all involved including Will, Mike, Andy G and of course myself aka Dan the Chef!

So now we have this kitchen ready, we are waiting for your enquiry for any type of private or corporate event!

Red Charity Golf Day Friday August 1st 2008 at Slinfold Golf Club

Our Golf Day - A History

Red Golf day is now in its third year and has raised over 25k for local charities to date.

The idea came from myself (Dan Clarke) who luckily enough has been invited to play at lots of golf days. The downside with all these golf days was I became frustrated how they were all the same and there was very little to excite you apart from supporting the charity (which of course is not a bad thing)

So what did I do? Being the perfectionist, I decided to take on all other golf days and make the “Red” golf day the best ever!

The Red Anywhere Golf Day

This year we are taking over Slinfold Golf Club in Sussex which is a beautiful and very demanding golf course. We visited many local golf courses and chose Slinfold not just because of the course, but they have a track record in holding very good charity days including the Henry Cooper Annual Golf Day. (If its good enough for Henry it’s good enough for us!)

We were also very impressed by their genuine excitement of our plans and were very pro-active towards our day and the whole event, which for me was very important!

Tee-Off

We will arrive in the morning for a healthy fry up and coffee; team captains will sign in and issue their scorecards to players. Tee off will be from 9.30am; each team will play 18 holes and along the way find various challenges and fines including:

  • Nearest the pin with a chance to win a Audi (Red of Course) for the weekend!
  • Longest drive hopefully with a branded Driver!
  • Fines will be incurred for landing in the bunkers or in water (there is lots of this!) and anyone that 3 putts!

Pimm’s and Cocktails will be available around the course, along with individual challenges to compete in and further prizes can be had in the ‘Putting Competition’, ‘Bunker Challenge’ and ‘Longest Drive’ with the opposite hand to you use!

Evening Entertainment

We will be leaving Slinfold after a few beers and cocktails and travelling on open top bus to Eastland’s Estate where you will be wined, dined and taken home!

There will be a charity auction compared by local businessman and journalist Ian Hart with some great prizes including:

  • A Taylor Made Driver signed by Justin Rose
  • Eurostar trip and accommodation to Paris,
  • A Weekend in Cornwall at a golf resort and lots more…..

All Sound Good?

Price per team is £300 plus VAT for 4 people; this includes breakfast, coffee, golf, evening meal and arrival drink (basically a shed load)

Places are limited and going fast if you would like to enter please email sue.stevens@wchp.org.uk who will handle all the administration for you!

We are supporting 2 local charities, Worthing Churches Homeless Projects and Sussex Autistic Society, all profit and monies raised through out the day will be split evenly

Blog Blog Blog!

Posted in News on May 26th, 2008 | No Comments

I visited a blogging seminar last week hosted by Fresh Egg at the Brighton Metrolpole Hotel. The day was to educate and give us all vital knowledge and confidence to learn the power and importance of blogging on our sites.

I had only started blogging about 3 weeks ago when are new site went live which was designed by Fresh Egg, I never really knew how and why blogging was important. For me as a chef it’s really great to be able to add information that people can use any time of the day no matter where or what I am doing!

I can post Hints and Tips, Recipes, Latest News and also what Red Anywhere are up to!

The Day was kicked off by an introduction by Adam Stafford MD of Fresh Egg and he quickly handed over to Lee (SEO Director) who set all our minds doing overtime with his depth of knowledge and the sheer experience in Blogging amongst other things!!

We then heard from Ammon who is a SEO Strategist… yep i have no idea what that is either! he gave us all advice and tips to how powerful the blog can be and how many companies use this tool and see it as one of their most powerful marketing and advertising solution. Ammon talked about how everyone and anyone can blog and with some very simple and basic rules you can be reaching millions of people who may want to tap into your market and hear about your company and what it has to offer, this was really exciting and highly motivating to hear!

We then heard from Tony a Senior SEO engineer at Fresh Egg, he explained in simple terminology how to actually use the blog and how to write and make your blog interesting and catchy but not to lengthy…. how am I doing?

Overall the day was a real success and really enjoyable, my head was bursting with ideas of what and how to blog more effectively in the future…..

I will be blogging regularly now with Recipes, Tips and the latest news in and around the catering industry, keep reading…..
